Is it our greatest asset or our downfall?
Some say imagination is humans true downfall, that it creates fear inside of us, fear that is irrational and worse than what actually occurs. Personally I feel that this imagination can get us through tough times, and help humans prosper but it acts a double edged sword. Though imagination can help create things in ones mind it also can destroy, distort and devastate ones mentality on a situation or outlook on life.
I say that there are more up sides to imagination in life, I would guess many agree. Why must the mind make fear and madness reign supreme at times also? Ultimately, which do you think is stronger, positive aspects of imagination or the fearful madness of imagination?
I suppose you're trying to determine at what point does imagination turn into paranoia. Projecting a darkened future can ruin one's self-esteem and desire to carry ahead. Imagination is definitely an asset to the human condition; without it I don't know how we would thrive. I couldn't live without it. It certainly drives us ahead more often than it holds us back.
