Worth

When is it worth your time?

At what point does something become worth your time? Some people say that a job is worth your time when you are learning something, or getting a substantial monetary amount for the work you are completing. Also another perspective is that something is worth your time when you are enjoying yourself and having fun. I completely agree with all three of these statements which together make a lifestyle that people strive to achieve. In the eye of the beholder something fun may seem worth while, but from an onlooker viewing the overall picture it may not seem that way. Who deems these things "worth while?" Is it someone who is successful at time management? Someone who knows how to have fun? Someone who is wealthy? The person who is doing the activity? Who has the ultimate power to deem something worth while?

In what sense it is worth while completely determines the outcome of every question I have asked, so for this scenario the activity would be one that influence your overall well being, however vague that is.

  1. I deem what is important to me, and if i ever let anyone else deem if for me, how can i have fun doing this when i maybe cannot relate to it because some higher power chose for me? I believe that if you got something out of it, it is worthwhile. The hardest part of accepting that is that sometimes it doesn't go the way you wanted it to, because there ARE other people out there and compromise is constant, but if you got something out of it - whether it be fun, or a lesson learned - then it is worth while. if you found it was neither helpful nor fun in anyway, that is what i deem not worthwhile at all.

    1. I completely agree with you Karli. Though some things in life may seem unfit for others to be deemed worth while, if you truly get something out of the experience, that should be what counts and nothing else.
